How it works

From first call to first visit.

  1. First call

A short call with a Registered Nurse to discuss specific goals of the client.

  2. In-person consultation

A Registered Nurse with a bachelor's degree meets you in person for at least one hour to assess the client and carry out any medical needs within the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse.

  3. Visit schedule

We determine together how many visits and hours the client needs per week and develop a schedule. If only an initial consult is needed for medical questions, no further visits are needed.

  4. Confidential visits

Our visits are discreet and not shared with anyone unless the client requests communication to a family member or physician.

Payment

Private pay only. We do not bill Medicare, Medicaid, or insurance.

C&C is a self-pay practice. Clients pay us directly, which lets them decide the hours, the nurse, and the start date without waiting on a payer.

Questions

What families ask first.

Do you accept Medicare, Medicaid, or insurance?

No. C&C is private pay only, and we do not bill Medicare, Medicaid, or any insurer. If you need a payer-funded service, we will say so on the first call so you can look elsewhere without losing time.

Can I be reimbursed by long-term care insurance?

Many long-term care policies cover some private duty nursing, but terms differ. We give you itemized invoices to submit. Your carrier decides what it will reimburse, so ask them before care begins.

How quickly can care start?

It depends on the hours and skills needed. Many families begin within a few days of the in-person consultation. Urgent hospital discharges are given priority, so tell us your discharge date when you call.

How is this different from a home care agency?

Home care aides help with bathing, meals, and companionship. Private duty nurses are licensed to assess, give medications and treatments, and report changes to the physician. Many families use both.

Do you need a physician's order?

For skilled nursing tasks, yes. We work from the orders of the client's physician and coordinate with the office when orders need updating.

What if there is an emergency?

Call 911 first. C&C is not an emergency service. Your nurse can advocate on the client's behalf and call the MD with the client's permission.
